ICE STUPA TREES SLOWLY TURNING GREEN

May 26th. Slowly the ice stupa gives its own life to the roughly 5,000 trees below and becomes a shadow of its own former self.

Ven Lama Rigzin tells me that few times overflows from the regular stream also reached the trees as did some overflows from the monasetry's kitchenline. And the good news is that Jain Irrigations has offered to provide a drip irrigation system for all the trees...

Meanwhile there is still roughly one storey of ice... deep under the shade of the seabuck thorn bushes which once helped in seeding of the artificial glacier.

So what's the guess? How long do you think the ice will last?
